Mark has put up his lids raced at Spa and Monza, while Seb is donating the helmet in which he won the German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring – undoubtedly one of the most significant victories of his 39 to date.
"This is one of my favourite helmet designs from this season and it goes without saying that this was one of the most special races for me – my first ever home win,"
"Just as the race meant a lot to me, Wings for Life does too and it's my pleasure to donate this signed and worn helmet for auction. I hope it raises a lot of money for their vital spinal research projects."
Mark's helmets are in his familiar livery while Seb's is a one-off scheme, designed specifically for the German Grand Prix and coloured in the black, gold and red of the Bundesflagge. Mark has also donated a race suit worn during the season. All items are signed by the drivers and come complete with the unmistakeable aroma of genuine Formula One driver perspiration (though Mark's overalls have been washed).
All four lots will be sold to the highest bidder at a live auction as part of Bonhams' end of year sale of Collectors' Motor Cars and Automobilia. Buyers can bid online, by telephone or wander down to Bonham's auction rooms in Oxford. For more info, take a look at their website here or contact Wings for Life directly on email@example.com
